Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one of its Patiala councilors, is seriously on fire after Anuj Khosla, one of the accused signed a bail bond for drug smugglers. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Malvinder Singh Kang launched a brilliant attack on the BJP, alleging that the party is the real protector of drug smugglers in Punjab. He claimed that BJP leaders repeatedly protect smugglers and provide them political shelter.
Kang presented a picture to the media, which shows BJP leader and former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Anuj Khosla along with BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh, said that Khosla is closely associated with both of them.
Kang said that Anuj Khosla is very close to captain Amarinder Singh and is organizing all his programs in Patiala. He maintains a strong relationship with all major BJP leaders and is often seen in BJP programs.
On March 29, 2025, BJP councilor Anuj Khosla submitted an affidavit in the court to secure Khushjot Singh’s bail, which was lodged against him under the NDPS Act for drug trafficking.
Kang said that the Punjab government is conducting a warfare called “Yudha Drashyan protest” (war against war) to eradicate the threat of drug from roots. Due to this campaign, the entire Punjab has united against drugs and trafficers. Meanwhile, BJP leaders are engaged in helping drug smugglers safe bail. According to Kang, the BJP does not want drugs to disappear from Punjab, because many of its leaders have deep relations with drug mafia.
He further said that the roots of today’s drug crisis in Punjab were planted during the BJP-Akali coalition government. These parties protected drug smugglers, ruined the future of thousands of youth and destroyed countless families. For his own financial advantage, he participated with drug traders and helped promote business. Punjab is now affecting the results of those works.
Kang insisted that the AAP government is committed to ending medicines from Punjab. Hundreds of drug smugglers are being worked against daily. In the last two months, more than 10,000 smugglers have been arrested and thousands of kilograms of intoxicants have been confiscated.
Regarding the issues related to drugs, the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are clear: Whether it is associated with high ranked police officers such as SSP or Shos or Drug Traders such as politicians, strict action will be taken against all. The government maintains a zero-optional policy towards drugs, crime and corruption, and no such cases will be compromised.
