CM Saini requested Amit Shah for National Forensic Sciences University Campus in Haryana

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Naib Singh Saini has offered free land for setting up both a temporary and permanent campus of National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar at Panchkula.

In a letter to the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, the Chief Minister urged for speedy approval of the project.

According to the letter, the Haryana government had requested permission from the Union Home Ministry on November 15, 2022 through a demi official letter for the establishment of NFSU complexes at Panchkula. The request was sent to NFSU, Gandhinagar, which then formed a committee. The committee inspected the proposed land in Panchkula on August and submitted its report to the Union Home Ministry.

CM, SH. Naib Saini in his letter emphasized that the Haryana government is ready to provide land for the project and requested the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to provide approval as soon as possible. He said that this initiative will not only promote forensic science education in Haryana, but will also create new opportunities for the youth of the state.

Dr. Sumita Mishra said that the state is working strictly towards promoting the infrastructure of all stake departments i.e. police, jails, prosecution and judicial human resources and promoting infrastructure and to fully implement the provisions of new criminal laws to fully implement the infrastructure.

Commenting on the project, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra said, “The establishment of the National Forensic Sciences University will be an important step for the students of Haryana, especially in the context of new criminal laws, the Indian Justice (BNS). This institution will provide education in modern forensic technology and provide judicial science.

He further stated that the state government is focusing on modernization of equipment, capacity building and development of infrastructure. In this regard, the state government has approved an additional 17 MFSU, 9 toxicology divisions and also approved the amount of rupees. 68.70 crore for the purchase of modern equipment for FSL, since the implementation of new criminal laws, FSL Haryana has seen an increase in sanctioned posts from 351 to 599 (70.7%) and from 167 to 342 (104.8%), with 257 newly created posts, with the collective technical upgrading, with the collective technical upgrading.

The State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is intensifying DNA and forensic reports, especially for sensitive matters. He said that some districts have shown excellent results i.e. Faridabad, Karanal, Dabwelli, and Fatebad, Kurukshetra, Sirsa and Rewari have performed well with a sentence of more than 75%.
